Product Abstract :
Damask rose is a hybrid of French rose and musk rose. It is a small thorny shrub that can grow in the wild in cool climates. If it is in warm areas, it is cultivated artificially. Today, the most important production area is in Bulgaria.
Damask roses can grow to about 2 meters tall. The petals are usually pink and the leaves have white cilia. Before sunrise, the aroma is particularly strong, so extraction must be done before sunrise and by hand. Approximately 2,500 petals are needed to produce 2.5ml of pure rose essential oil, making Damask rose essential oil one of the most expensive essential oils.
The name of Damascus rose comes from the city of Damascus in Syria. During the Second Crusade in 1148 AD, the French brought this variety from Syria to Europe.
Damascus Rose, also known as the "Queen of Flowers", has symbolized love, purity and passion since ancient times, and has various histories and myths. Rose essential oil has been used to treat a variety of symptoms since the Middle Ages, and Bulgaria has a tradition of distilling rose essential oil for more than 300 years.
Damask rose essential oil is commonly used for mental enhancement, skin conditioning, and mood changes.
