Cedar is a majestic pyramid-shaped evergreen tree species, which is mainly grown in the Atlas Mountains of Algeria, and its essential oil is usually made in Morocco. Cedar can grow up to a height of 40 meters. Because the wood itself contains extremely high essential oils, neither parasites nor molds can erode it, and it can survive for thousands of years.

The word "Cedrus" is derived from the Arabic word "Kedron", which means "power" and can represent the indestructible characteristics of cedar. Therefore, cedar was used to build ships, palaces and furniture in the ancient civilizations of the Middle East. Cedar essential oil was regarded as a precious essential oil in ancient Egypt.
